Glen Curtis,

noted philanthropist and 2002 Citizen of Year


Glen G. Curtis, one of Yuma's most successful and generous business leaders, helped The Jane Johnson Foundation tremendously. He made a special visit to Field Elementary to meet some of our students and they won his heart. Glen suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease and passed away in December 2006 . The medically fragile children of San Diego were fortunate enough to be some of the many touched by Glen. 


He was a noted citrus farmer, developer, philanthropist and father of 12. In a life filled with accolades thanks to his generosity, Glen Curtis was chosen as The Sun's 2002 Citizen of the Year and the Benefactor of the Year and Philanthropist of the Year at the 2004 Yuma Community Foundation Heart of Yuma Awards.
